New Music: Fireflies. Track 6 from Dreams of the Forest

Here's another brand new track from my upcoming album, Dreams of the Forest, called Fireflies.  I hadn't originally set out to write any music about the little glowing bugs, but when I was working on this song, I somehow landed on a combination of three different sounds that made me think of fireflies lighting up at night. You'll hear it for the first time around the 12 second mark and all throughout the song.  

We see them most Summer nights in our backyard and they definitely add a splash of magic to the end of the day  Plus, the kids loving catching them and setting them free.  I recently discovered that fireflies are on the decline so click here for a short read on how you can help.

beautiful, Marc! I could hear the fireflies :) I love our fireflies, didn't think I'd been seeing as many, but figured it was because I live in the city... although we have a huge forest for our backyard.. I'll definitely read the link on their decline. I had a friend in Montana several years ago who wanted to come visit "so she could see fireflies" - I guess they don't have them there?!

Dear Marc, as the first track of Dreams of the Forest is majestic so is this piece lovely as well. Unfortunate we don't have fireflies here, although I don't see them, probably we are living to close by the city, but I can imagine their magic. A magical wonderful composition.

Fireflies is an amazing sound. When you close your eyes, you can imagine them flying around. Great meditation piece. Can't wait for the new album release.

There something about the piano and movement of this song that speaks of the closing of a very happy/fun summer day. I've never seen a firefly - and yet, I can totally feel this music. Looking forward to more Marc!

Beautiful, relaxing! I'd love to have it playing in all of our offices.

We used to watch fireflies but haven't seen them here for a long time. They are so special...my daughter & I have called each other 2100 miles apart...to let each other know when we see one!

Within a few seconds of this piece, I was transported to my younger years when fireflies (known as lightening bugs, here) would drift up from the grass at dusk like a mist rising up from a river at sunrise. Thank you for your beautiful music and for what it does to my soul.

Altogether Lovely Marc. Thank you for sending links to hear your beautiful music. You can definitely envision fireflies thru out the song. We have had some in the summer also but as other have stated, not as many as when the children were small. Beautiful Beautiful track, as always!!!! Thank YOU!!
